No, I meant looking at LUA_RELEASE.
Ah! Thanks, I missed that macro. I see now it is defined in lua.h.
BTW, at first I tried finding it in Lua official sources, but to no avail:

seems to be an older version (the comment at the top reads v 1.216) and
doesn't define LUA_RELEASE, whereas on Steve Donovan's annotated source:
http://stevedonovan.github.com/lua-5.1.4/lua.h.html
it reads v 1.218.1.5 and LUA_RELEASE is defined there.
I thought the source at http://www.lua.org/source/5.1 was the latest of
the 5.1 series (5.1.4).
