Spoke too soon. There's a problem with foo:bar() notation -- it finds
foo:bar correctly, but then passes foo, which is a shared_ptr, as the
"self" parameter, which fails. Works fine for member variables though. Sigh.

I may end up aborting; I've spent more time evaluating (and fixing)
wrappers than it should have taken to WRITE a basic wrapper.

I'll post updates to the page to avoid further noise on the list.
