module() is the standard in 5.1, as define by "what built-in Lua". Lua doesn't provide many functions, but it does provide module(). 5.2 is a work of, hmmm, fiction at the moment.

There are also rumors of discounted in part of Elbonia, related to some vague notions of "purity" or something or other. Go figure.
