Jeff,

I'm not sure what you're getting at. He asked for how to do this on 
Windows as he already had the Unix variants.
I simply opened a DOS prompt in XP and typed the commands.

I haven't seen anyone running Windowe 9x for a very long time, not even 
my parents.

If you don't think they are valid answers, say so and why.
