i also tried on one of those.  the error with too big numbers is
something like "parameter #1 required integer, got number".
surprisingly, for lower seed numbers, the generated sequence is
identical to those in x86_64 linux.  it seems that the glibc RNG is
very consistent even across versions, processors and word lengths.
