I stepped on this article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Script_%28computing%29 randomly (from "script" in the liguistic sense of the word ;-).
Noticed it doesn't mention Lua except for the sentence:
<< Languages such as Tcl and Lua, were specifically designed as general purpose scripting languages that could be embedded in any application or used on their own. >>
Not even in the section " Extension/embeddable languages". (Conversely, javascript is imo over mentioned.)
Maybe someone would like to enhance the article?
