Hi to everyone.
There's a tiny libusb binding available at
http://luaforge.net/projects/lualibusb/ .
It's not complete, but it is already functional. Missing are some
esoteric device manipulations, and superfluous stuff like parameter
sanity checks (ahem).
If someone who actually knows C and Lua looks over the code, i'll be
delighted.
lualibusb is released under MIT license.

PS: With a bit of luck we will have a XO powered competitor for Crazy
