The patch is not a way to distribute new Lua releases; it's just a convenient
way to fix all known bugs with minimal hassle. If the existence of the patch
is a source of noise, we can always remove it...
What's the problem with releasing majorly fixed (read segfaults etc.) versions
of Lua more regularly? For example after a bug was found and fixed?
