That's why I've written a Lua/C module to embed Perl code into Lua
programs. Right out of the box this module works with Windows boxes but
I see no reason why it shouldn't work with other OS, so long as there is
a recent Lua and Perl installation.
(I have not yet formally updated the package to Perl 5.10 because I
currently don't use it as much as I did before; anyone interested in the
5.10 version should contact me by PM.)
