Usually a recurring discussion about syntax means the users (you know, the
people actually using a product) are offering indications of areas that
could be made more user-friendly.  Dismissing those discussions as
"shallow" alienates the userbase.

Not every user has the programming ability to modify a backend to meet
their needs, which is about the same as requiring every driver to be an
engineer in order to suggest how to make their car function better for the
driver.
