Latest Lua version is 5.1.2. There is always a link to the most recent
version on Lua site front page. For 5.1.2 it is :

Answers to almost all your questions are in the manual. If you haven't
read it yet you should spend some time in it now, it will save you
writing emails to get answers that are already there :
