luasocket & multicast?

Hello,

Does luasocket support mutlicasting? Looking at 
socket.udp().setoption(), there seems to be a 'broadcast' option. Is 
that it?

The only reference to multicast I can find on the list is in a message 
from Diego Nehab dated August 13, 2003:

Also, does socket.select() works the same way for both TCP and UDP 
sockets?
