Lua and Firebird

Hello,

I'm fairly new to Lua, and have enjoyed learning the language so far.  
I was wondering if anyone could suggest the 'best' way of interfacing a
Lua script with a Firebird database on a FreeBSD system, without writing
my own set of extension functions?  LuaSQL looks good but doesn't seem
to have Firebird support.  Any advice would be helpful!
