I haven't usaed swig; but I agree that the Lua API is quite
straightforward. But if you don't want to mess a lot with the API you
might want to use tolua (http://www.tecgraf.puc-rio.br/~celes/tolua/).
There is tolua++ too, that eases things when winding with C++.
