If anyone thinks they might be interested, I can answer questions better
that the recruiter since it's testing stuff that my team produces.
Specifically, the project is the massively multiplayer game Mythica
(http://mythica.com), and the job is centered around testing an object
model exposed via Lua that we've created (and continue to expand) for
scripting what goes on in the game. By "testing" we mean writing script,
lots of script, to verify the exposed api, so that level implementers
aren't the ones who run into the bugs first, since BadThings(tm) tend to
happen in that case, such as then assuming its their bug and trying to
silently work around, only for it to show up again later, etc. This
person would be the script expert, also spending considerable time
helping implementers implement their scripts in the most efficient and
long-term maintainable manner, such as steering away from massive
amounts of copy/paste which they sometimes view as the quickest way to
get their work done.

If a candidate were also a C/C++/C# programmer, then we could get a lot
of extra mileage by them also adding debug support functionality to the
api, and/or extending our test automation harness to control what's
going on in the world in lots of crazy ways to try to break things.
Currently our test harness only focuses on controlling players as
players would, not actually controlling the game world. I just mention
these to point out that there is lots of fun stuff to do for the
well-qualified applicant.

The job is a contract position at Microsoft, onsite in Redmond, WA.

Thanks,

Curt
