Amped's 3-D UI, which is run almost entirely in Lua (not the 3-D part),
runs at a couple hundred frames per second on the Xbox the majority of
the time.  A decent amount of Lua code is run every frame.  I don't have
benchmarks, but it seems pretty acceptable for some type of real-time
use.

Standalone Lua is critical to the file format idea in the previous email
