Oops, sorry. Thanks for spotting this.
This bug has also made it into my lstrip and it's now fixed.
If you use lstrip, please get a new version at
http://www.tecgraf.puc-rio.br/~lhf/ftp/lua/#lstrip
A fix for luac will have to wait until 5.0.4(?) and 5.1.2.
