Releasing source for what? The fork of GCC 4.2.1 that they've barely touched for years?

Can't be clang/llvm. Their builds of those don't seem widely different from those produced by the llvm project.

They're moving away from GCC for the same reason the BSDs are: they don't like the GPL3 and refuse to touch it with a barge pole
