any good e-mail client supports threading, which is much better than
"flat" structure of most forums, i think. and i really can't think out
why somebody needs to post images or advanced text formatting.

definetely forums and lists are different. the one thing which makes
this list better than any forum is that Lua authors read this list and
post here. %-)

but this is only my own opinion, i'm not forcing anybody to agree with
me. %-)
